I noticed you carry Lacoste Live! in your denim store. How is it different from Lacoste?
20 Feb 2012
Reid F. asks: I was on your website and noticed that you have Lacoste Live! in your denim store. How is it different from Lacoste? Hi Reid – Lacoste LIVE! is on fire at RSX. The Lacoste LIVE! look is crisp and sporty with updated slimmer cuts and more fashion-centric elements like prints and denim. They’ve taken some of the key pieces from the original line (like polo shirts) – and merged it into a sexier fit and added lots of color and attitude. Lacoste has launched LIVE! stores in Soho along with Boston, L.A., Miami and Georgetown. We’ll have several deliveries of Lacoste LIVE! this spring so make sure you pop by our denim store to check it out again and again.

What do you suggest when fitting clothing over winter weight?
20 Feb 2012
Digger B. asks: With spring on its way, I’m looking for a new suit. Problem – I’ve gained weight and I don’t want to jump a size. Don’t want my old suits revealing my indulgences this winter either. What do you suggest? Digger – you won’t be getting any lectures from us on diet and exercise – that’s reserved for your personal trainer or your partner. What we will tell you is that one of the most important principles to follow when dressing any body type is to buy clothes that fit properly. We cannot tell you how many times our tailor has had to tell a client who shopped elsewhere that his suit just isn’t a good fit and there’s nothing a master tailor can do about it. Baggy clothing doesn’t hide extra pounds and tight clothing doesn’t reign it in. Along with our trendier fashion collections, we stock … Continue reading →

Does your denim store (RSX) have something that might fit my budget and my body?
20 Feb 2012
Mike S. asks: My style is casual. I’m a jean guy. I work in an environment that allows me to wear jeans to work with a jacket. I just bought 2 new jackets from your store and have very little left to spend on high end jeans. Does your denim store (RSX) have something that might fit my budget and my body? Mike – no worries. Truth is you can find great-looking and great-fitting denim without foregoing lunches at your favourite burger joint for the next month. We carry Levis in 3 styles and washes priced under $100 and Mavi denim in a number styles priced just under and a little over $100. Both Levis and Mavi jeans resemble something you would expect from premium brands with a variety of washes and fits. Should I be loving the idea of the high waist silhouette or hating it?
20 Feb 2012
Karen M asks: Should I be loving the idea of the high waist silhouette or hating it? Karen – Legs look longer and muffin top disappears in a high waisted skirts/pants – what’s not to love? Just keep in mind that these ensembles are not casual and proportion is key. Your waistband should always be visible – that’s the point of the high waist detail. Shirts should be tucked in or cropped high. Wide pants look best with a lean jacket while high waisted pencil skirts look best with a looser blouse. This Spring – platforms and heels really make these items stand out!

How can I keep my Citizens of Humanity capris nice and white?
6 Feb 2012
Chantal B asks: I’m looking forward to wearing my new white Citizens of Humanity white capris that I bought from you. Can you tell me how to keep them the crisp white that they are now and for a long time to come? Chantal – smart of you to think ahead – we advise that you tend to food spills as soon as you can get those capris into the wash. Pre-treat the stain, if possible (keep a stain remover in your bag/car) and then launder with regular detergent at the hottest temperature allowed on the care tag. The “care tag” is your friend…so always read the tags before you wash your items for the first time. For make-up stains on white clothing, such as lipstick (guys, listen up!) lay your item stain down on a wash cloth and push mild dish-washing soap into the fabric with another washcloth. Repeat … Continue reading →

How can I add some wow to my closet this spring?
6 Feb 2012
Shannon C asks: Help! My spring closet doesn’t thrill me. It’s a lot of “same old – same old”. How do I salvage what I have while adding some interest? Shannon – We hear you! The first thing you do is grab your 10 most favourite items from your spring wardrobe and lay them out. What do they have in common? Decide whether these similarities are a good thing or a sign that you need to shake things up. For example, are they all the same shapes (a-line skirts, button down blouses, black flare dress pants). If these shapes work for you – then when buying something to add to your closet keep within these shapes in new colors, fabrics or patterns. If you’ve grown tired of these looks/fits then consider a new cut for spring – just one to add to the mix. With respect to color – make … Continue reading →
